Based in England, UK, Den Owen is the Illustrator behind Fulmar Illustration. A strong interest in birds and nature led him to study environmental conservation, but due to a lifelong passion for art, he decided on pursuing that path instead.
Den's hand drawn illustrations are produced using the traditional method of a dipping pen and ink, this allows him to create organic lines and textures as opposed to the refined lines of a modern pen. He has has now shifted to predominately pencil based illustrations and mixed media. His illustrations cover themes including nature, history, mythology, folklore and dark fantasy, and he has worked on various projects for bands, breweries and books.
